Fat Kid Podcast
With 42 years of being the "Fat Kid," I am thrilled to share experiences in confidence-building throughout my life! Come along with me and my wife Amanda, who also just happens to be a "Skinny Kid". We are on a mission to change the views of health and wellness in the US, heck maybe even the globe!
The Fat Kid Podcast is a collection of interviews, stories, insights, and jokes mixed in with some self-help, research articles, and more! We intend to have fun, but explore topics and people that are relevant, and interesting!
Our goal is to breathe a breath of fresh air into challenging issues like confidence, leadership, relationships, parenting, and more!
Thanks for taking the time to check us out! We hope you enjoy it & come back for more!

#29- Grant Parr- "Sports are a tribe. Three tennants of a tribe. Do I belong, can we communicate and do we understand the common goal."
Grant Parr is a Mental Sports Performace coach. Grant's company, Game Face Performance, helps mainly athletes and top-level performers cope with the rigors of success! His podcast, 90% Mental, and his book, Next One Up Mindset, have been part of his secret sauce!
As the other part of his secret sauce, Grant's lived experience of having his hip replaced twice before age 40 left him crippled and broken. This alone qualifies him well beyond holding a master's degree in Sports Psychology! Grant gets it, and it shows!
Listen in as we discuss:
- Learning how to fail again and being vulnerable
- How to approach the mindset of young athletes
- Coaches' and parents' roles in a young athletes life
- Trying, failing, and coming back for more
- Coming to terms with ourselves and being ok with our effort
I could have talked to Grant and picked his brain for hours; I'm sure we will do another episode soon! Thanks, Grant!
