# 33 Casey Kroll- Former JMU lineman and coach, inspired to help other coaches maintain their health through the BIG MAN FOUNDATION.

Nick Zerby Season 1 Episode 33

Casey Kroll has a unique story, probably one that has never been told before. Heading into JMU, Casey was a tall "skinny" tight end. Once on campus, they turned his large frame into a Big Man upfront. In other words, offensive lineman! That’s not the unique part. In fact that happens alot!

During his tenure at JMU, Casey played a big role in the 2016 JMU National Championship under Coach Mike Huston. While earning his master’s degree and playing, he also fell in love with the job of coaching!  After graduation, he got taken under the wing of Coach Jamal Powell, his offensive line coach at JMU.

While coaching together at SMU, Coach Powell succumbed to a rare cancer, claiming his life at just 39 years old. Casey was devastated for Coach Powells family, and vowed to his wife and children that he would do everything in his power to help coaches live better healthier lives! In 2021 the Big Man Foundation was formed with Casey at the helm! Listen in as we discuss everything about the Big Man Foundation and what it represents!

Thank you, Casey, for taking this important step in helping Coaches, who give their all, lead healthier lives through action!
